Objectives:

The objective of this assignment is to enhance the learning capabilities of the students about:

• Transmission Medium
• Data Link Layer
• Hamming Distance

Question No. 1

Data-link Layer controls node to node communication. There are two types of transmission links:

Point-to-point link

A point-to-point connection is a private data connection securely connecting two or more locations for private data services. A point-to-point network can also be configured to carry voice, video, Internet, and data services together over the same point connection.

Broadcast link:

Broadcast links connect two or more nodes and support broadcast transmission, where one node can transmit so that all other nodes can receive the same transmission. Classic Ethernet is an example.

You are required to identify these types of links and write them down in the table given below:

00000,11110 Hamming Distance = 4

Minimum Hamming Distance is 2.
